ISO 14001: Mitigating environmental impact

ISO 14001 is the world’s most recognized environmental management standard. It helps organizations and communities implement practices and procedures that reduce the impact of their operations on the environment.

Why it’s important

An ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that we are focused on minimizing the environmental impact of the entire recycling process.

That means everything we do—and all the partners we interact with—are committed to processing electronics properly.

We adhere to strict standards for handling waste in our facility. And, we track and are responsible for anything we ship until is ultimately consumed (melted, smelted, or refined). This is called downstream due diligence. When we ship focus items (any item that can pose an environmental or human threat), we are required to have downstream audits on all vendors who receive them.

OHSAS 18001: Focusing on human health and safety

Developed by leading trade and international standards bodies, OHSAS 18001 provides a framework for organizations to instigate proper and effective management of health and safety in the workplace.

Why it’s important

OHSAS 18001 demonstrates our commitment to the health and safety of our employees and vendors who come in contact with or handle our product.

We have put in place ways to identify health and safety risks, reduce the risk of accidents, and continually look for ways to ensure the health of our employees and customers.
